The payment structure for contractor assignments

The One Legal Fulfillment Services Payment Model

Base Pay

Each assignment you receive from One Legal includes a base pay that varies depending on two main factors:

  • Task Type: The specific service you are providing, whether it's a service of process, court filing, or courtesy copy delivery.

  • Location: Each courthouse and ZIP code is categorized into zones based on accessibility. More remote or challenging-to-reach areas command a higher base pay.

Page Count Supplement

  • Printing Costs: For assignments that require handling and printing of over 50 pages, an additional payment is made to cover these extra costs as follows:

    • 1-49 pages: No additional payment

    • 50-99 pages: +$10

    • 100-249 pages: +$25

    • 250-499 pages: +$50

    • 500-999 pages: +$100

    • 1,000+ pages: +$150

Service Level Adjustment

  • Rush Jobs: These assignments include a premium (+$25) over the base rate to compensate for the urgency and disruption to your schedule.

  • Special Jobs: For tasks that require unique considerations or exceptional circumstances, pay is determined through specific negotiation based on the specifics of the customer's request.

Examples of Pay Calculation

  • A standard service of process assignment in a very urban area (zone 1) with less than 50 pages, would pay $35.

  • A rush serve in a sub-urban area (zone 2) with 52 pages, would pay $80.

The average payment is variable, reflecting factors such as additional pages, service levels, and higher base pay zones.

Assignment Autonomy

  • Job Acceptance: You have the freedom to accept or decline any assignment based on its suitability for you.

  • Negotiation: If the specifics of an assignment warrant, you may contact us to discuss adjustments to the payment rate.

Inquiries about amounts you've been paid: If you've completed a job and have questions about the amount you've been paid, or believe that you've been paid incorrectly please submit a inquiry to the Contractor Payment Inquiries Form.
