Autonomy as an Independent Contractor
As an independent contractor with One Legal, you have the flexibility to choose which assignments to accept and which to decline based on each job's specifics. This autonomy is a key aspect of our working relationship, allowing you to manage your workload.
Guidelines for Accepting and Declining Jobs
Setting Realistic Coverage Areas: To minimize unnecessary declines, it's crucial to set a coverage area that accurately reflects where you can realistically work. Avoid selecting ZIP codes that are impractical for you based on travel distance or conflict with other work.
Additional clarification on coverage areas: We may amend your coverage area based on feedback and/or a repeated pattern of declines due to an assignment being outside of coverage area.
Notifying of Absences: If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a day, inform us in advance. This helps us manage job assignments more efficiently and ensures you're not allocated work during your downtime.
Job Management in ServeManager
All pending jobs appear at the top of your ServeManager account. Each job listing includes 'Accept' and 'Decline' buttons:
Accepting Jobs: If you accept a job, you commit to completing it as required. Should circumstances arise that prevent you from fulfilling the job, contact us immediately to discuss the situation.
Declining Jobs: When declining a job, you must provide a reason from the dropdown menu provided. Adding detailed explanations helps us understand your decision and improve future job assignments.
Communication and Reassignments
In certain cases, we may reach out to discuss your reasons for declining a job. If a mutual agreement is reached upon reviewing your concerns, we may reassign the job to you with clarified expectations.
Work Volume and Independence
Per our independent contractor agreement, we cannot guarantee a specific volume of work. You always retain the right to accept or decline any assignment offered. This policy ensures that your independence is respected.
