How do One Legal contractors get paid?

The Contractor Pay model

We know that as professional process servers, you have a lot of choices, which is why we have created a pay model designed to fairly and transparently pay you for every marketplace job you complete.

Earnings for a job are calculated according to:

Base pay
Calculated based on the population density of the ZIP code you're delivering to (so that urban areas pay a little less, and sparse rural areas pay more).

+

Service level
Rush jobs (serves that need a higher frequency of attempts within a shorter timeframe) and urgent jobs (court deliveries that need to be completed as soon as possible) receive higher pay.

+

Pages
Orders over 50 pages come with additional pay for increased printing and stationery costs.

Total pay
You will always earn base pay. Service level pay and pages will depend on the specifics of the job.

How much can I potentially earn?

How much you can earn depends on the type of jobs you complete.

Shorter serves and deliveries at standard service levels in densely populated urban areas pay $35 per job. A short serve or delivery at standard service level in a rural area could pay up to $125. Additional pay can be earned for longer (more pages) jobs or jobs that require a faster service level.

To see what average rates are for different job types in your area, check our our Contractor Rates Table.

When do contractors get paid?

Contractors are paid into their ServeManager wallet every time they complete a job for One Legal. You can disburse your wallet to your chosen bank account at any time.
